OUR CAPABILITIES

Sadia Ahmed

Sadia Ahmed is a multidisciplinary artist and entrepreneur based in Lahore, Pakistan. Growing up in a culturally rich family, she was always immersed in the world of art and creativity. Although she was predicted to excel in art school due to her artistic inclinations in high school, Sadia chose a different path and pursued a degree in Development Economics at college, connecting her academic interests with her passion for social causes.

After several years working with the esteemed women’s rights NGO Shirkat Gah, where she focused on advocacy, research, and publication, and represented the organization at various international conferences and events, Sadia returned to her creative roots by launching Karafuru, a brand specializing in hand-painted cushions featuring her original artwork. Inspired by pop art and contemporary lifestyle and fashion photography, Karafuru—which means “colorful” in Japanese—reflects Sadia’s vibrant artistic style.

Currently, Sadia is working on her next project: writing and illustrating her first children’s book, a personal creative venture that combines her love for storytelling and art. Formerly a member of the Board of Directors at the Lahore Literary Festival, Sadia continues to blend her intellectual foundation with her artistic passions, exploring new creative avenues.
